Physiotherapy & Exercise for Osteoporosis

About Bex

In 2003 Bex gained her Bsc (hons) Physiotherapy at St Georges Medical School, London. Following her degree she moved to Brighton to start working for the Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust. Working and rotating across specialities in 2006 Bex settled as part of the Balance and Bone Health Team at the Princess Royal Hospital, in Haywards Heath. This unique department works with complex and diverse patients ranging from Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s Disease, stroke, multi pathology patients, falls and long term conditions. In 2006 Bex completed her Postural Stability Instructors training, (evidence-based exercise programme to improve balance). In 2012 Bex became the Physiotherapist Clinical Lead for Osteoporosis at the PRH hospital, following a passion to stop people fracturing and living with confidence in their bones. Offering evidence-based quality care, Bex re-organised the service to include education groups, exercises for stronger bones, group and one-to-one sessions. She is well respected and known in the South East as the ‘go-to’ physiotherapist for Osteoporosis. Regularly lecturing at the University of Brighton, the BSUH NHS Trust, for drug companies and the Royal Osteoporosis Society. In 2014 Bex gained her Pilates Teacher Training with (APPI – Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute).

Her NHS patients didn't want their care with Bex to stop so in 2017 she set up community based exercise groups for Osteoporosis and started to work privately in her 'limited' spare time.

Always enjoying hands on therapy and after seeing great results for long term pain conditions in 2018 Bex added to her skill set by completing a year long course in Advanced Clinical Massage Techniques with the JING Massage Institute.

In June 2019 Bex was finding her time so pulled between her community exercise classes, her requests to see patients privately and the job of running a busy household that she decided to leave the NHS and open her private Clinic and focus on Stronger Fitter Bones.

Bex continues to develop her skills in 2019 attending the APPI Healthy HIIT Programme and in 2024 Strength and Conditioning Course with the highly respected Professor Claire Minshull.

Bex is a registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy 071982 and the Health Care Professions Council PH69341.

The personal bit….Bex has 3 kids, 2 dogs and a husband who also runs his own business.  “I have to keep myself fit to do my job well, to understand how the body moves, trains, recovers and can get injured. I have run a marathon, practice Pilates, done a triathlon (only a sprint), practiced yoga for 20 years, surf badly when I feel the need for adventure, and am now finding a love of lifting weights. Staying fit lets my mind feel more settled. I love people and feel so lucky I have a job that has allowed me to meet and work with people from every walk of life. I am also super proud of the supportive community I have built with my Stronger Fitter Bones Classes. Ohh and I probably love my dogs a bit too much!”
